The AIA Continuing Education SystemThe AIA plays an active role in the continuing education of its members. Through the AIA Continuing Education Systems (AIA/CES), we aim to provide the best available professional development opportunities to our membership and related industry professionals. This firmly established learning network allows members to fulfill education requirements necessary to maintain AIA membership and meet any mandatory continuing education requirements for license renewal. All active AIA members must successfully complete 24 learning unit (LU) hours each year. Of those 18 LU hours, at least eight (8) LUs must relate to health, safety and/or welfare (HSW). As a first step to learn more, read answers to frequently asked questions about AIA CES requirements. Additional information regarding AIA Continuing Education, Learning Units, Health Saftey and Welfare (HSW) and Mandatory Continuing Education (MCE) coming soon! AIA Alaska provides CE events for our members throughout the year, through monthly Section events, at the annual State Convention, and by sponsoring special events such as Alaska Design Forum lectures. Whether you are an Architect, Associate, Student, Allied Member or prospective continuing education provider, the staff of AIA Alaska look forward to working with you to bring and deliver quality education to the local design community. It is a resource of AIAS and AIA. This web site is a gateway to the profession that will introduce you to the "Three E's" of architecture: Education, Experince and Examination.
